I still remember my first wedding. I was fifteen years old.

By that time, I was already working in my father’s photography studio, developing black and white film in the lab and slowly learning the magic of color processing. My father wasn’t just a great photographer — he was my mentor, my teacher, and my guide. I grew up watching him work, learning not only the technical side of photography, but the responsibility that comes with capturing someone’s most important moments.

Over the years, I had the honor of working by his side photographing four state governors and many mayors across Baja California Sur. We even worked with what was then the third largest airline in Mexico, traveling and photographing each of their 17 destinations. One of the projects I’m most proud of was creating the first graphic government report, documenting public works throughout the entire state. It taught me discipline, storytelling, and attention to detail.

When I got married and our first daughter was born, my wife Veronica and I decided to begin a new chapter in Los Cabos. That move changed everything. I had the opportunity to work with the municipal government and beautiful hotels like Casa del Mar, Palmilla, and Las Ventanas al Paraíso. That’s when I began focusing more on weddings and corporate events — and honestly, that’s where I truly connected with people.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is engagement sessions — especially the surprise proposals. Most of them are completely secret. Sometimes I’m hiding with a long lens from a distance… sometimes I blend in with tourists… and yes, a few times I’ve even pretended to be part of the venue security team just to stay close without being noticed. After more than 2,000 engagement sessions, I can proudly say I have never heard a “no.” Being trusted with that exact moment — the second someone decides to spend their life with another person — is something truly special.

What I love most about this profession is the relationships. I have clients I’ve been photographing for more than 20 years. I’ve seen couples become parents, and parents become grandparents. That means more to me than any award ever could.

For me, photography is not just about taking beautiful images. It’s about understanding what matters to you. It’s about being present, paying attention, and capturing the moments you’ll want to remember forever.

Everything I do is inspired by my family — my wife Veronica, my children Denisse, Valeria, and Sergio, and now the newest joy in our lives, my granddaughter Cirina. They remind me every day why memories matter.

So when I photograph your wedding or your event, I do it with the same care and respect I would want for my own family. Because at the end of the day, these images become part of your legacy.

And that is something I never take lightly.
